Easy Install and Activate Not Working Waves
I cant use Waves plugins unless im online?
Hey guys, I own some Waves plugins. Installed and activated via Waves Central, the easy install and activate option.
Now that i have finished (for now) revising my plugin studio, I want to disconnect my DAW from the internet and commence making my music.
However, upon disconnecting and rebooting, my Waves plugins cannot find their license. Apparently I need to connect to do this, which isnt going to work for my workflow. This computer needs to remain offline for several weeks now.
How can I get my Waves plugins to work offline?
Run Waves Central and it will find them. They have to be on your hardware or in the cloud, unless you obliterated them. Once located, transfer the licenses to one of your HDDs or a thumb drive. At that point, being online is not necessary. If any of that is a problem, call support. The guys on the desk are competent and helpful.
When I transfer the licenses to my computer it still requires me to be online. Only if I load them to a USB stick will it let me use them offline.
Also I have Softube Saturation and Air Music Xpand and I have to be online to use those as well. Such a pity! Unless I buy the way overpriced ilok dongle...
A- ....then put them on a thumb drive.
B- iLok is not particularly expensive ($40-$50) and will resolve the Softube issue. Do it. Get over it.

I have an iLok (2, I think) for another program that requires it - can I take the Waves plug-ins out of the cloud and put them on that to work off-line ... or do I need an actual USB drive?

No and yes (in that order!) - Adding Waves licenses to iLok - not possible?

You need to check your facts - Softube and Air Instrumenst can be authorized to your computer and do not require an ilok key to authorize.
You do NOT need to be online to use them - I don't know of any plugin that does not require you to be on line to download and authorize when you are installing them.
We have hundreds of licenses on our systems and all of our plugins work fine with no internet connections

Softube Saturation Knob and Air Music Xpand!
When I disconnect my computer from the internet and load REAPER, these plugins pop up asking for authorization and are unusable.
